Emmy 2018: Game of Thrones e Netflix guidano le nomination

Da pochi minuti sono state rese note le nomination dei prossimi Emmy 2018, i premi americani dedicati alla tv. 

 
Negli Stati Uniti sono state annunciate le nomination dei 70esimi Emmy Awards, gli “Oscar” dedicati ai programmi e alle serie televisive. A dare l’annuncio, quest’anno, sono stati l’attrice Samira Wiley di The Handmaid’s Tale e l’attore Ryan Eggold, ex star di The BlackList.
A guidare come ogni anno le nomination è Game of Thrones con 22 candidature, tra cui miglior serie e miglior attrice non protagonista a Lena Headey e miglior attore non protagonista con Nikolaj Coster-Waldau e Peter Dinklage. Westworld non è da meno con ben 21 nomination, una in più del fenomeno globale The Handmaid’s Tale che è il vero favorito dato che ha ottenuto importanti candidature anche per quanto riguarda il cast.
La vera notizia è il sorpasso di Netflix su HBO con un totale di 112 nomination contro 108, una svolta epocale che potrebbe porre fine al dominio incontrastato del network. Sorprende la sola candidatura alla regia per David Lynch per l’acclamato sequel di Twin Peaks , mentre molto bene sono andati anche This is Us e The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story . Riconoscimento importante anche per Benedict Cumberbatch che punta deciso verso il secondo Emmy grazie alla sua prova in Patrick Melrose. La serata di premiazione degli Emmy Awards avverrà il 17 Settembre 2018 ad Hollywood, California.
